Wow! That's all I have to say. I have waited to write this review because I thought my first 2 times I visited were a fluke. Nope! This place is really just that good. Every smash burger they have is amazing. I've had a few now and just wow! Crunchy pieces on the outside, An amazing beef flavor with amazing toppings. They are just perfect. Don't hesitate to now!

Greasy, cheesy, and crazy indulgent smash burgers. This would absolutely hit the spot after a night out, or in my case, a casual Saturday afternoon. I went with their OG Dirty Flattop and a side of Onion Rings. This burger was the embodiment of simple is best. It featured two smashed patties, butter braised onions, American cheese, and their house garlic aioli. It was crispy, juicy, oh-so-creamy, and full of onions. Please don't expect a balanced, fresh burger. This one will 1000% make you feel slightly bad for yourself for downing it so fast, yet simultaneously satisfied. Their Onion Rings were also done really well! They were made fresh. Oh, did I mention everything's made to order right in front of you to see and smell? Literally so good. The most memorable part of the meal for me might have been their Garlic Aioli. I'm usually not a fan of creamier sauces, but there's just something about a quality garlic aioli. The perfect addition to the burger and a great dipping sauce for the rings.

Was having a burger craving and i drove to The Friendly. Although it is 2025 , i am always wrapped back into time everytime i dine at this establishment. This is what a classic grill top cheeseburger embodies. The first item on the menu is the OG and please order that first. Side of fries or onion rings, your choice. A nice selection of sodas to wash down the great food. Service was awesome and watching my food being made with love , will make me come back over and over again

My Christian last name is BURGERS I take BURGERS very seriously I did not expect much from This place-seemed like fart water in a glass jar hmmmm. Great surprise....thank you Robert. No gassy fumes to be found here only great BURGERS and a big happy meat belly. Wife Beverly normally doesn't like a smashed patty but she gobbled this beef up quick, horked it all down like a cow stuck in a tornado. Got her to quiet down for a couple mins LOL. Luv the food will be back -Danny burgers

My first review for 2025! Been wanting to try this place for awhile, but whenever i decide to go, it takes forever to find parking and i end up not going. New years day, i was craving a burger. In and out's line was so long and I figured i try this place - if i could find parking. I pull up into the lot and it was meant to be because there was one vacant spot right in front. Yay! The menu is really simple. I opted to go with the OG and Fries. It was pretty empty and that was to be expected on new year's day, at 9pm. i decided to sit at the counter and check all the stickers they had, a lot of them had me giggling. Now onto the food. It's an open kitchen so you can see your food being made. Once my order was ready, i could already tell that i would be doing a happy dance. The first bite reminded me of local burger places I used to frequent in jersey when I was younger. I cant quite figure out what it was that reminded me of my jersey days, but this burger was so simple yet so tasty. The right amount of onion to cheese ration was good. I probably would have wanted my bun to be more toasted but that's just my preference. Although it looked small, it definitely was very filling. The fries are typical fries, but cooked to the right crisp. The 2 people working that night were really nice and even asked if my food was ok. Something i was not expecting at this type of place. I didnt use the restroom so im not sure if there's a changing area for babies. Plenty of tables inside. This place is located in a small strip mall, there is a parking lot, but it gets full quickly, especially on weekends. I would definitely come back. Im curious to try the other location as i just learned that they sell NY style pizza. Im looking forward to trying that. They accept card, i believe they also take cash.

I don't often go for smash burgers, but this was one of the best I've had. I got the OG Dirty Flat Top which included 2 patties, grilled onions, American cheese, and garlic aioli. It took about ~7 min to get the burgers and fries, which felt pretty fast. The burger was really good and I like how some of the patty was crispy (and smashed). The aioli and the burger was flavorful. Smash burgers are not huge so they were the perfect portion for me. The fries and onion rings were crispy. I really liked the onion rings, so next time I'd take them over the fries. The burger is still the star of the show at this place. This spot is a casual yet comfy kind of diner. Nothing real fancy inside, but it adds to the vibe. Service was great. The staff members were enthusiastic, friendly, and patient.

If you're craving a stellar smash burger, The Friendly is the place to go. Their patties are thin, crispy-edged, and perfectly caramelized on the grill. The flavor is incredible--juicy, savory, and satisfying with just the right amount of char. The service is more of a typical fast food spot. Place your order and receive your food. This place gives off diner vibes. Blast from the past! That said, it's worth noting the prices are on the higher side for a burger joint. While the quality justifies the cost to some extent, a meal here might not be an everyday indulgence.

Ive tried their PB location and i feel this location is better in terms of quality and staff. The ambiance is the same as all their other locations. Diner vibes. The staff is super nice and food is soooo good. I got the shitkicker and which was greasy AF but so fkn good i would get this again. Their onion rings are crispy and delicious with their ranch and BBQ sauce. Paired with a crisp diet coke this was the ultimate cheat meal. Only downside is their located in that part of convoy next to Tajima and steamy piggy where the parking is absolutely horrendous. Also if you want ice for your drinks bring them with you because they dont provide ice or cups here lol.

My favorite burger, place and all of San Diego. An excellent choice everyone to try out! PROs: EVERYTHING on the menu is incredible. The menu is the perfect size to where you can have different options and everything is delicious. We've come here many times and I've slowly tried everything. My favorite is the shit kicker though. The employees are always quick, attentive, and courteous. I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for my food. All the burgers are made fresh to order and you can taste the quality. The simple searing options, variable music, and entertaining random stickers through out have nice vibes. The bathroom is always clean as well. CONs: It's a smaller parking lot so be creative if you come at peak times.

The Friendly definitely serves up some delicious burgers! A family member mentioned this place saying she noticed it when she had dined next door recently at Tajima Ramen. We were craving a good burger and Yelp brought us here. It was a weekday around 4:00 - 5:00 pm, and there were a couple of parties inside the place. As we enter, we are greeted with a, "What up, what up!?" There were two employees inside and they kind of reminded me of Jesse Pinkman, Skinny Pete, and Badger (minus the twerking) from Breaking Bad. They weren't unfriendly or anything, on the contrary they were welcoming and cool... Breaking Bad was just the kind of vibe I got. Lol We quickly looked over the menu. I went with the OG Dirty Flattop and my family member went with the French Dip. The OG is made with two smashed patties, butter braised onions, American Cheese, and garlic aioli. The French Dip is made with two smashed patties, butter braised onions, Swiss Cheese, garlic aioli, and comes with French Onion Jus. I really liked the OG, but I scored the French Dip a bit higher. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious! The French Onion Jus was so good. It gives you the urge of wanting to take shots of it. Lol. The fries and onion rings were okay, not much else to say. 4 / 5: OG Dirty Flattop 4.5 / 5: French Dip (the French Onion Jus is what bumped the score up). The place was clean and I liked the decor, especially the stickers on the napkin dispensers. There was also hip hop music playing in the joint. It was definitely not censored, so if you have young children and are sensitive about curse words, you have been warned. There was a couple with their children (kids were maybe between 8 - 12 years old), and the music didn't seem to bother them. Parking is tricky on Convoy, but I found parking on the street. Prices are not too bad. I feel like prices are comparable to other fast food burger joints. The employee said they've been open for like a year and that there are two other locations. We are fans and will likely return sooner rather than later. 4 / 5: Food 4 / 5: Cleanliness 4 / 5: Service 4 / 5: Ambiance 4 / 5: Overall
